It's basically stealing from nostalgia and recreateing it (poorly). The first Evoland took some jokes and references throughout the different eras of gaming while Evoland 2 takes jokes, pop culture references, and battle mechanics directly from specific popular games. E2 doesn't really do anything new like the first game did. Thx 4 reading.Įvoland was such a fantastic game! I went into Evoland 2 with high expectations but was let down hard. Buy it and support this great developer team. No Evoland Quiz at the end of the game at "who gets millionaire" with a new item like 7 dragon balls or a loupe for finding new places/ stuff (including a few achievements)įor this really wonderful game i give 95 %. No skippings or help for parts you are not so good with or have already done No own game for the card game with cards of Evoland 1 (the 9 cards game) No Steam achievements for getting all upgrades or all Maana, no acheivements for get all swords of the game or Orikon weapons (every part, all parts) and for getting 1,5,10,20 stars, 1,5,10,20,30 Cards, for Cameos like Mew and Metroid, getting 1,5 red and 10 (green) of this healing item things, or visiting Ceres parents graves. No super final boss like get all weapons of the game, get for it master sword, mirror shield and golden armory (Legend of Zelda Twillight Princess, Skyward Sword) and beat Zeyphrot (only beatable with master sword) from Evoland 1 (who could be the child of Kuro and Fina :P and Kuno that get earth elements abilties to beat than super final enemy DEMONIC SHADOW KUNO (only beatable with elements and master sword upgrades by 30 stars(Metroid Prime stealed Dark Suit Samus and Zelda Twillight Princess/ Windwaker upgrading Mastersword) The game has 3 difficulties and is never to hard on the lowest one, only a few times frustrating if you dont like the genre and want do side quests. There are many things to find like Manaa, Orikon Ore, many Cards, Stars, leveling, a few weapons ,support characters upgrades, many stars and Cameos. Strategy part like Fire Emblem/ Advanced War and other things. Gameplay is good, it has a few spots of most genres (1 Street Fighter battle, 1 double dragon fight run, 1 of this air shooters, Bomberman Area, Jump N Run. Music is satisfying, a few parts are better, a few less.
Graphics are sometimes not really detailed, but i love the the presend and even more the 3 D world (reminds me on FFCC and The Legend of Zelda Windwaker, sure not with Nintendo/ Square potencial). Sometimes i wished in later areas more books to read, like Metroid Prime had from the Chozos, but i am fine with this. The story is good with many little parts like who Ceres parents are. It reminds me on my good old 2D games like Gameboy Legend of Zelda The Awaking or golden times on Nintendo Gamecube Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
